Finals are here — and so is the stress.

This Month's Focus: Navigating Stress Surrounding Finals

It’s okay to feel stressed, but don’t let it take over.

Wrapping up the school year can feel like a whirlwind. Between studying, projects, and everything else going on, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But you don’t have to go through it alone. Here are some tips, tricks, and resources to help you manage the stress of finals and finish the semester strong — mentally and emotionally.

Let’s talk about how you can manage that pressure while still performing your best.

  • Set Small, Manageable Goals: Break down your study sessions into chunks. Instead of focusing on the entire exam, focus on one section at a time.

  • Take Breaks: Your brain needs rest. Try the Pomodoro Technique: 25 minutes of studying, followed by a 5-minute break.

  • Keep Moving: Even if it’s just for 10 minutes, a quick walk or stretching can help release tension and boost your focus.

  • Mindful Breathing: When stress hits, slow your breath down. Try 4-7-8 breathing: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, and exhale for 8 seconds. It helps calm your mind and body.

Quick ideas for stress-busting activities between study sessions:
